CBWeb3 and the New Blueprint for Central Bank Money in Latin America

CBWeb3 and Central Bank Money in Latin America

The CBWeb3 Project is a step forward in the evolution of Latin America's digital financial landscape, bringing together central banks and financial institutions to assess how digital money and tokenized assets can flow across regional and country-specific networks while maintaining monetary sovereignty, security, and economic connectivity. Funded by the Inter-American Development Bank’s venture arm, the IDB Lab, the initiative is working toward a blueprint for modernizing financial infrastructure across the region.

In this conversation, Mariana Kotik, Chief Strategy Officer at LNET Global, Nico Poggi, Chief Business Officer at Cosmos, and Ferran Prat, CEO and Founder of Peersyst Technology, sit down to discuss what CBWeb3 means for the region and what they're seeing firsthand as the initiative takes shape across Latin America.

The conversation explores how sovereign digital currency networks can interact across borders and the use cases enabled by the flow of central bank digital currencies, including cross-border payments and financial asset tokenization.
